Her backhand is sharper than a switchblade, having sliced her best WT result to date at this location when she got second against Gabby Bryan last year. Margaret River’s punchy rights suit her attack, and with local supercoach Jake Pato on her payroll, she’s looking to throw some winners bonuses around. Expect her to smoke bomb her way past bigger names. 

Luana Silva 

Luana’s been ripping, no doubt, but her jump to Tier B is like stepping up from beach breaks to North Point. Against heavy hitters like Tyler and Isabella in the same tier, she’s simply outgunned. Last year, she went out in the elimination round here too. Not ideal if you’re wanting any scores at all. Save your slots for surfers with better value and bigger claws.

Jordy Smith 

Jordy’s surfing like he’s discovered the fountain of youth. At 37, he’s breathing the fire of a grom with the wisdom of a sea dog. Having hit runner up in 2021 and quarters just last year, White Chocolate’s history at Margaret River speaks for itself. His Bells and Burleigh form this year screams top 5, and his power game’s perfect for Margies’ beefy walls. Even in Tier A, he’s a no-brainer. Grab him before he melts the competition.

Jack Robinson (Power Pick) 

Jack Robbo’s the king of West Oz, and Margaret River is his castle. With Margies wins in 2022 and 2024 he’s the guy to beat, especially without John John in the draw this year to stop him. Jack’s 17.67 final score last year was a masterclass in rail work and tube hunting. He’s definitely your power surfer here so—lock him in and watch him shred Main like it’s a personal playground. 

Griffin Colapinto

Griffin Colapinto’s ready to break out of his mid-season slumber. His result at Bells in 2025 proved he’s back to air-bending form, even if he had yet another hard beat at Burleigh. As a Tier B pick, he’s a steal for anyone chasing big points. Slot him in for a potential podium run. He might even go one better than his runner-up finish to Double John in 2023.

Deivid Silva 

Deivid’s got heart, but Margaret River’s not his happy place. One year, he was so spooked by a massive swell, he paddled wayyyyy out into the channel so he didn’t cop any sets on the head and went basically scoreless for the heat. I don’t think he’s ever made it past the round of 32 at this venue. Surfing’s a confidence game, and Deivid’s got more doubts than a rookie at The Box. Steer clear.
