Summary: The leader and heartbeat of the SPY+ Product Department, this role is responsible for driving innovation, design, and creating incredible products that support our business goals across channels and regions. As equal parts visionary, master strategist, and top-notch executer, this person is responsible for all things product, from ideation, briefs, development, and margin to long-term strategy and multi-year road maps across categories.
Responsibilities:
- Drive innovation in design, function, sustainability, and other ways to establish SPY+ as a leader in youth culture.
- Work directly with the VP of Brand to make sure that the product vision supports the Brand vision and business targets.
- Define the seasonal and long-term product strategy for SPY+’s product offering across all business channels and regions; DTC, Core Specialty Wholesale, Optical, Costco, Key Accounts, and Boutique.
- Lead, mentor, and inspire the Product Development Team to successfully execute the product vision, deliver the product on time, on margin, and on-brand.
- Oversee product designs and development for all product categories and packaging.
- Direct the creation of seasonal briefs.
- Contribute to and maximize overall profitability of SPY+ products, with a strong focus on managing intake margin, staying within price tiers, and leading both the design of highly commercial and on-trend products.
- Own and manage the global Product calendar including but not limited to kickoffs, brainstorms, brief creation, stakeholder meetings, managing key milestones, multiple rounds of development, sales sample delivery, etc.
- Study global and regional trends, consumer analytics, sales figures, and market data, and share findings with the internal team to ensure SPY+’s product authentically represents the needs and wants of our target consumers.
