Role: Merchandise Planner

Summary:

The Merchandise Planner- Apparel & Accessories role is a permanent full-time position and is based in our Torquay head office, reporting to the Snr Planner. You are responsible for maximising business profits through the management of merchandise from conception to sale in the divisions across the global Rip Curl business. The key responsibilities will be;

• Working closely with the Product Managers, Retail Planners and Purchasers and are responsible for merchandise planning across the wholesale, retail and outlet channels and to provide clear and regular measures to inventory budgets and facilitate actions where required
• Forecasting for future merchandise buys based on historical sales and current inventory levels across the channels within the business
• Work with Snr Designers and Snr Merchandisers to improve margins through leverage of scale in purchasing decisions
• Monitor and improve style/sku efficiency in the division. Work with the apparel product teams on design briefs prior to Design Camp, ensuring the range size at the brief stage are appropriate based on history and previous sell through
• Undertaking detailed analysis of store and range performance, working strategically on optimum stock levels by store profile and location
• Developing range plans including Identification of areas for investment, or for reduction for each product category and reviewing efficiency of each season, injection, quick to market or SMU product range
• Assisting the buying team with product allocation and option planning
