Role: Women’s Designer

Summary: Outerknown seeks a Women’s Designer to join our quickly scaling design team. This person has their finger on the pulse of Outerknown’s mission + design aesthetic and stays current with industry trends. This role requires a natural team player, organization, self-motivation and a meticulous eye for detail.  

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with the Head of Design to identify emerging trends and contribute to inspiration research
• Sketch styles and help to choose fabrics and trims
• Set-up tech packs with sketches, construction details and BOMS. Help communicate fit and construction details to Technical Design.
• Communicate and follow-up with PD on style development details
• Partner with PD on the status of styles in development to ensure product execution meets design intent
• Review incoming samples to ensure they are correct
• Understand our sustainability ethos and goals to ensure the fabrics/trims we choose meet our standards
• Comment on lab dips and strike-offs
• Assist in fittings and help to update tech packs with any sketch or detail revisions
• Develop, train and manage interns
• Help pull samples and put together looks for photoshoots
