Vans: Vans and National Geographic come together for a collection of footwear and apparel that celebrates 120 years of the never-ending quest to explore. This collection celebrates National Geographic’s longest standing tradition of seeking and story telling. Discover the different footwear and apparel style in this collection, and become inspired to explore our planet. This collection is a super limited edition release, once its gone.. its gone!

Us: I saw this earlier today on Stab (head there if you want their 2c on it) and I was curious to see more of the collection and clicked through to the Vans site for the full pitch. The National Geographic and Vans collection is BIG – like across mens, womens, and kids and across multiple categories. My math aint great, but I counted upwards of 40 products (including custom options). There’s 6 sneaker options (the 5 icons of Era, Sk8-Hi, Slip On, Authentic & Old Skool – and then a pair of Ultra Range), long sleeve and short sleeve tees, caps, boardies, and more. Even a fanny pack, or sling pack for those who need to call it that. I think they’ve done a pretty good job at mashing the two brands (National Geographic and Vans) together without being too out of range. Would have been cool, but never would happened, to see a Nat Geo produced book on the history of Vans or similar…

What’s good tho? In my eyes, chase down::
*Voyage Boardies – all black, with a Nat Geo yellow square. Easy win.
*Anorak Jacket – simple design, easy wearing.
*Customise your own Sk8-His
*The Eras with Nat Geo covers all over them.

Side note: If you’ve been wondering why everyone and their dad are doing projects with NASA at the moment (brands like Rumpl, G-Shock, Timex, and yes, even Vans) its because almost anyone can use NASA’s Name and Logos, just don’t call it a Collaboration.Wondering if Nat Geo will head this way?
