Mega cities like Tokyo and Hong Kong have been long time leaders of the street culture movement in Asia. These two urban hubs have fostered hugely influential brands and served as bellwethers for the rest of the world foreshadowing what’s to come in street style fashion and trend. In recent years though, other major cities throughout Asia have begun to catch up including cities like Seoul that boasts a burgeoning skateboard scene and a boutique retail landscape on par with some of the best in Japan and China. To help reach Korea’s flourishing marketplace Vans contacted STARCH to help design its first Brand Showcase store in Asia aimed at Korea’s world famous Gangnam shopping district in Seoul.
