Instagram Reports are a dime a dozen these days (especially on this site), everyone can get them whether it’s via their internal social team, external agency charging them absurd amounts to do so, or some random guy who works at the internet doing it – points is, basic reports aren’t too hard to come across.

So, with that in mind I went a little deeper with the reports (there’s two today) and focused each report in on a singular account – Quiksilver & General Pants – to really try to get some insights dug out, to get a look at how brands or retailers might be succeeding/failing at IG. Granted I don’t have the access that the agencies or internal teams I have, but there’s still plenty of info out there to play with.

Because they’re are so in depth (the Quiksilver one is near 20 pages), I’ve decided to put a little pay wall up on them. It’s nothing crazy, it’s $5 – a cup of coffee, three nuggets or a block of wax. If you’re interested in these types of reports, I’m hoping that $5 ain’t too much to shell out. If, somehow, $5 is too much, there’s a free version here you can cop…

There’s more info below about the reports, etc, have a look and I hope you enjoy them if you buy.

Thanks 🙂

QUIKSILVER INSTAGRAM REPORT 2019

This report provides a benchmark on how the @quiksilver Instagram account performed in 2019 (against 2018) as well as comparisons to the years previous through to 2015. The data used to inform our analysis has been collected over the last 5 years where we’ve polled over 250 accounts, across several industries and audience sizes, to get a unique look at the Instagram landscape.

Inside you’ll find analysis against Quiksilver’s direct competitors (surf apparel manufacturers), like-minded brands (action sports industry), and accounts with similar audience sizes (1-10mil) to Quiksilver. From there we polled Quiksilver against the top two, bottom two and average point in each of these sectors to get a clearer view of where Quiksilver is sitting moving forward into 2020.

While the report is quite detailed and full of insights, it’s not exhaustive as we only have access to likes, posts and number of fans. From there we’ve pulled together multiple metrics to use – Total Likes, Total Fans, Number of Posts, Average Likes per Post, Average Likes per Fan and Overall Engagement – as well as year on year comparison to those metrics. If anything, use this a benchmark, not ‘concrete facts’ in how the account is performing

Anyway, onto the report.
